When you were a kid, were there any early activities that might indicate you’d one day become a skydiver?
I had three of my uncles jump into Europe during D day. They used to tell me their experiences and of course, I was interested. They showed me how they landed and would teach me. I jumped off the porch roof holding a bedsheet. I was about 12 years of age.
What was the circumstance that led you to the DZ for the first time to make your very first skydive?
I went through the US Army jump school and was told that I could jump for fun at civilian drop zones.
What made you want to continue skydiving after your first jump?
I enjoyed it and was more relaxed in the air than on the ground.
What’s the best / most memorable skydive you’ve ever made?
I made a tandem jump at the Heard Boogie and we did a 32-way out of a Caribou aircraft.
If you could jump with anyone in the world, who would you like to jump with and why?
I would like to jump with student jumpers. It is great to see how excited they are when they are jumping.
